Kirsten, STREAT x Yoga in ACTion

From a very young age Ana always had a deep calling to understand the body, mind connection and enjoyed being of service to others. This led her to study 3 years of pre-med and psychology and becoming a yoga teacher. With over 400 hours of yoga training including trauma informed, she´s had the opportunity to teach in various settings in Australia and international such as in NGOs, prison systems and studios. And has recently founded NETFIT yoga which provides tailor yoga programs to professional and amateur Netball players. Ana's influences are based on the work of great teachers such as David Emerson, Bessel van der Kolk, and Duncan Peak. She has also studied with many teachers including Tara Judelle, Ana Forrest and Tiffany Cruikshank. In September of 2017, Ana will start her 300 hr Trauma Centre Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) Training with the Trauma Centre at JRI, MA, USA.
Indrani has been teaching yoga since early 2015 and has degrees in Dance and Arts Education and an MA in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counselling from Colombia College Chicago. She has a passion for working with the body/mind connection for healing. She completed her 200 Hr teacher training with Power Living in Melbourne after studying 100 hours of Anusara yoga immersions with Tara Judelle, Amy Ippoliti and Ross Rayburn. She is also a trained doula and has studied prenatal yoga, has completed 20hrs of training in in Trauma Sensitive Yoga with the Trauma Centre Yoga Program, is a 300 hr Trauma Centre Trauma- Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) certificate candidate with the Trauma Centre at JRI, MA, USA and continues to study other forms of yoga and mindfulness practices.
She has ample experience with multi lingual, racial and ethnic communities from a broad spectrum of backgrounds and life experiences, including refugees and asylum seekers, in the US and Australia.

Yoga in ACTion brings yoga and meditation programs to at-risk communities as well as professional development opportunities for yoga and meditation teachers working in these communities. We specialise in trauma informed practices.
Yoga in Action is dedicated to bringing these transformational practises to at-risk communities, such as prisons, drug rehab clinics, and disadvantaged youth to name a few. We offer community groups, organisations and companies who are committed to supporting social change, a range of programs that will enable personal transformation, build connection and support ongoing development. Our services include:
Qualified yoga and meditation teachers
One-hour classes on a casual basis or tailored longer term programs
We come to you, utilising familiar and safe spaces
We also support yoga and meditation teachers working in at-risk communities through our training and teaching exchange programs. When we work with an organisation, a portion of our fee goes toward up-skilling teachers to better equip them with tools to support participants who have experienced trauma. We are confident our programs will foster more connected, healed and empowered communities.
